Looking for somewhere to sail in the Lake District?  Look no further than Ullswater, one of the most stunning lakes in the UK. We are located at the northern part of this seven-mile lake and, being only 10 minutes from the M6, we are the most accessible. Whether it's an introduction to sailing, RYA training, or competitive racing you're after, we have it all. And if you are a member of UYC you can camp for free in the club grounds.

We are delighted to announce that on March 4 we won the RYA's Club of the Year 2017 Award and in January we won Yachts and Yachting Magazine's Club of the Year 2017 Award.

Masters Week, July 13 - 17

The winner of Masters Week this year was Sonata sailor Peter Guest. Peter, right,  is pictured receiving his trophy from John Woodcock who was race officer for the week. Afternoon tea at the Sharrow Bay, July 19

The famous Sharrow Bay Hotel was the venue for a special Ullswater Yacht Club trophy presentation on Sunday, July 19. The annual President’s Trophy long distance race for cruisers was held on Sunday and the winner, Chris Taylor and his crew Cana Witt and Stephanie Hopkins, received their prize at an event held at the hotel which is next door to Ullswater Yacht Club. Sea King drama on Sunday

After all the excitement of a record-breaking Lord Birkett Memorial Trophy event last weekend, which attracted an entry of 231 boats, members of Ullswater Yacht Club were expecting a quieter time on July 11 and 12. But there was plenty of drama on Sunday morning when an RAF Search and Rescue Helicopter exercise took place on the lake directly in front of the clubhouse, and in the middle of the 11am-start race.
