Another Good Turnout by Junior Sailors

Saturday racing was well attended for both outings, Culgaith lad Joss Noble sailing to victory each time, in the first race he was followed home by Benedict Barnes in second & Jack Neilson third. In the second race Jack took his revenge and beat Benedict to complete the podium positions.

In the races for tempests & dinghies, it was the dinghies all the way. Lester Noble sailing an International Canoe took the honours in the 1st race being followed by his wife Anne with Chris Brooks in a 29er. Those positions were reversed in the second race and Steve Brown with Phil Bairstow sailing an RS800 took the third spot in both races.

The cruiser sailors had their latest outing for the Dennis Vernon Trophy series. Colin Johnston and Richard Sealby in a Club 19 claimed victory. Ray Harle with his crew sailing a Hunter Europa were 2nd with Robin Barratt and Nigel Hampson in an Etap 21.

Tempest sailors took to the water on Sunday for 3 races in their autumn series. In races 1 & 2 the places were the same each time, 1st John Robinson and Lindsey Whitehead, 2nd Ian Modral and Robin Higgens and 3rd Mike Egan and Keith McDermott. For the 3rd race Ian and Robin took the winner’s spot followed by John and Lindsey, Mike & Keith were again 3rd.

In the Cruiser Island race, Colin Johnston and Richard Sealby took victory, Robin Barratt with Nigel Hampson were second and Ray Harle and his crew third.

Josh Moran sailing his Laser got a win in the conventional dinghy series 1st race on Sunday, John Lyons also in a Laser was 2nd with Chris Moran and Dave Lyons sailing a Flying Fifteen 3rd. Those places were repeated in race 2 but in race 3, only 2 boats finished the race, Josh 1st and Chris & Dave 2nd in the Flying Fifteen.

Lester Noble and his crew sailing a 49er claimed victory in all 3 races for asymmetric dinghies. Steve Brown and Phil Bairstow in an RS 800 were 2nd in races 1 & 2 and in race 2 Colin Brown took 3rd place in his International Canoe. In race 3, John Robson claimed 2nd with Andrew Webster third with his crew Hannah sailing an RS 800.
