End of Season Approaches

Six Cadets in their Toppers enjoyed 2 races on Saturday. Joss Noble from Culgaith won both in fine style. Philip Brooks took the runner up spot in race 1, Ben Potter completing the line in 3rd. Euan Hammond improved his position to take 2nd in the next race and Will Carter finished in 3rd place.

The Tempest & Dinghy fleet also had 2 races Arthur & Anne Foord taking a victory in the 1st race in their Flying Fifteen followed by Chris Brooks sailing an RS200 with Anne Noble and Tom Neilson & Rebecca Wanless coming 3rd in a Laser Vago. Matty & James Lyons in a 49er came home 1st in the 2nd race beating Lester Noble and John McAvie also in a 49er with Arthur & Anne Foord in 3rd.

Sunday did indeed bring stronger winds but that just makes the sailing more exciting especially for the spectators. 3 races for the Tempests brought victory for Mike Egan & Keith McDermott in races 1 & 2. They were followed by John Robinson & Lindsay Whitehead in race 1 & Ian Modral with Robin Higgens in race 2. Nick Stewardson & Ray Styles took third in race 1 while John Robinson & Lindsay Whitehead did the same in race 2. Race 3 saw Ian Modral & Robin Higgens victorious, John Robinson & Lindsay Whitehead runners up & Nick Stewardson & Ray Styles third.

The cruisers had a shortened race for their Island series race in which Ray Harle & Neil Sayer in a Hunter were the winners, Marion Marshall with Robin Stanley came 2nd in their Monark and Colin Johnston & Richard Sealby were 3rd in a Club 19.

Matty & James Lyons took the honours in all 3 races for the asymmetric dinghies. They were followed by Steve Brown and Phil Bairstow sailing an RS800 in the 1st race who were also 3rd in race 2. Lester Noble & John McAvie took 3rd place in race 1. Anne Noble & Chris Brooks in a 29er came second in races 2 & 3 and Craig & Neil Robinson sailing an RS800 took 3rd spot in the final race.

The conventional dinghies only managed to get boats out for 2 races, the first being won by John Lyons in a Laser. Arthur & Anne Foord followed him and Josh Moran also in a Laser was 3rd. David Sykes took the victory in race 2, Josh Moran was 2nd with Arthur & Anne Foord taking 3rd place.
