Welcome

Looking for somewhere to sail in the Lake District?  Look no further than Ullswater, one of the most stunning lakes in the UK. We are located at the northern part of this seven-mile lake and, being only 10 minutes from the M6, we are the most accessible. Whether it's an introduction to sailing, RYA training, or competitive racing you're after, we have it all. And if you are a member of UYC you can camp for free in the club grounds.

2018 is a very special year for everyone at Ullswater Yacht Club - it's our 60th Anniversary.

In honour of the Diamond Anniversary we have a new version of the UYC Pegasus logo 'Diamond Peggy' and a celebration weekend with events on and off the water will be held on June 16 & 17.

Throughout the year we will be looking back at the fascinating history of the club and how it grew from a group of enthusiasts who loved spending their spare time on beautiful Ullswater to the sailing mecca that it is today - winner of two Club of the Year Awards.

* The 2018 UYC Programme can be found under the Events tab. The programme, which includes racing, training and social events, camping/motorhome dates and scheduled meetings will be revised and updated throughout the sailing season. The newest version can always be found under Events. The programme was last updated on 3.4.18.

30 November 2010 (1640 reads)

An additional ferry has joined Ullswater Steamers and will soon be in service.

The Western Belle is now sailing on Ullswater and will be officially launched in the spring. She was built to the orders of the Millbrook Steamer and Trading Co. in 1935 and was purchased by Ullswater Steamers in 2010.

She is still to undergo some finishing touches, such as her wheelhouse being clad in wood but no doubt she will become a familiar sight in 2011.

Reminder to all members
18 November 2010 (1251 reads)

A reminder that all dinghies have to be removed from the club site promptly at the end of this month, NO LATER THAN THE 28th NOVEMBER.
This winter the dinghy park is going to be reorganised, and all boats must be moved so that the new layout can be implemented.

Winter storage for your dinghy should not be a problem, but your details should be entered on the list in the club house.  Make sure your boat is
clearly marked with a sticker which you can obtain from either Bill Powton or Ian Priestley.

Any dinghies still on site after 28th November will be removed.
