Race Officer and Safety Duties
The dates of your duties are shown in the programme. You should report to the race office AT LEAST ONE HOUR before the start of the first race. Some time before your duty, advice notes will be sent to you to assist you.
If for any reason you are unable to carry these out, YOU should make every effort to arrange for an adequate substitute. A duty swap list is displayed on the club notice board and available through the website to help you arrange a substitute. Failure to fulfil your duty to your fellow members will result in disciplinary action and may result in your expulsion from the club.

ULLSWATER RACE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (URPD)
URDP is a sponsored programme of events designed to enable UYC members to develop their sailing skills beyond that delivered through the RYA Training Syllabus currently being delivered within the club. For the 2012 season a number of " Friendly Coaching Clinics" are planned. As the name suggests these will be informal friendly coaching sessions held by the URDP team. These on-the-water sessions will coomence at 4.15/4.30pm (after club racing), each session is dedicated to one of the principals of racing e.g. Starting, boatspeed, upwind strategy, mark rounding, downwind strategy, boat tuning etc. They are open to all UYC members, especially adults, whatever their standard, who want to improve their racing skills. For more information or to find out about an up-and -coming session, check the URDP page on the UYC website, or send an email to friendlycoaching@me.com to get your name on the mailing list.
